Health Insurance

Stride Clinic Podiatrists are registered with most medical insurance companies. Please read the information below to ensure that you obtain the relevant information prior to booking your appointment and add details of your health insurance provider, membership number and treatment codes to the notes section when booking your appointment.

Stride Clinic can accept self-referrals, however you should check with your policy in case you require a GP referral.
Prior to booking you must contact BUPA to obtain a pre-authorisation code for your treatment. We will require this and your membership number in order to process your claim.
If there is an excess to pay on your claim after your treatment BUPA will contact you and Stride Clinic. Stride Clinic will email you an invoice or you can call the clinic when you receive your notification from BUPA.
Currently Janet McGroggan is our only podiatrist registered with BUPA please ensure that she is linked to your pre-authorisation.
It is essential that your pre-authorisation code is relevant to the necessary procedure codes. Please find details of these below.
- Initial Consultation AA145
- Follow Up Appointment AA641
- For a Biomechanical Assessment you will require the code AA365 plus at least 2 Follow Up Appointments AA641
- For a New Patient Biomechanical you will require an Initial Consultation Code as well as the above bundle.
- For Nail Surgery you will require the code AA628 plus at least 2 Follow Up Appointments AA641 – You must have attended for an Initial Consultation AA145 prior to Nail Surgery.
BUPA do not cover the following
- Medical devices such as insoles, orthotics, splints and medication.
- Verrucae Needling.
- General Footcare or conservative management of foot conditions.

Should you wish to use your Vitality Health Insurance, we would ask you to pay for your treatment and recoup the costs back from Vitality. Therefore please book through the New or Existing patient booking page rather than the Health Insurance booking page.

It is your responsibility to inform Vitality prior to each consultation and ensure that your appointment/ treatment is pre-authorised.
Vitality do not cover dressings, medication or medical devices such as insoles, orthotics or splints.
They do cover Initial Consultations and General Footcare but do not cover Biomechanical Assessments.
Please contact Vitality in advance if you require, fungal nail treatments, verrucae treatments or nail surgery.

You will need to pay for your treatment in full and receive a full receipt to submit to Simply Health for reimbursement.
It is your responsibility to find our if you have an excess to pay or a policy fee limit.
Simply Health do not reimburse you for medication, insoles, orthoses or splints.

Stride Clinic will bill your insurer for each consultation if you have a Health Insurance Policy. If your insurer fail to cover your appointment fee, Stride Clinic will contact you for payment.

These insurers do not cover dressings, medication or medical devices such as insoles, orthotics or splints. Please ensure that you have contacted your insurer in advance of your appointment so you are aware of what you are eligible to claim for.
