General Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a safe and regulated profession that aims to assess, treat and prevent a wide range of conditions and health problems with hands-on techniques, exercises and lifestyle modifications. Osteopaths treat more than back pain.
Our bodies have an innate ability to heal themselves. Osteopaths use a refined sense of touch to help them diagnose and can treat their patients using a wide range of gentle and non-painful techniques to aid this self-healing mechanism by restoring function to the body.
Osteopaths take time to listen and understand their patients and recognise that everyone is unique and individual. This means that treatment will be unique and individual to the patient based on a thorough assessment including variety of factors such as, the nature of the problem, the age of the patient, their lifestyle and health history etc.

Osteopaths are primary healthcare professionals and work along-side other healthcare professionals such as GPs, nurses and midwives to ensure you get the best care.
Pregnancy & Postpartum
Osteopathy is a safe, hands-on manual therapy that can help to alleviate aches, pains and discomforts that may arise in pregnancy and postpartum period.

Optimal Positioning of Mum and Baby for Pregnancy and Birth
In most pregnancies, babies will turn and present head down in preparation for birth. This usually happens before or around 36 weeks, however, some babies may move and change their presentations frequently and other babies do not engage until labour has begun.
Occasionally, restrictions or tensions in the body may hinder a baby from turning head down. A baby who isn’t head down is known as breech, where their bottom or feet present first.

Osteopathy can help prepare your body for birth, by using safe and gentle hands-on techniques throughout your pregnancy. My focus is to balance and release areas of tension in the muscles, ligaments, fascia and connective tissues so that the pelvis can move optimally through-out pregnancy and birth and aids in the optimum positioning for baby* as birth approaches.
*Please note, I do not “turn babies”. External Cephalic Version or ECV’s are only performed in hospital by an obstetrician.
I will also prescribe lifestyle modifications and exercises to help your baby turn head down by balancing and preparing you in the weeks leading up to your birth.
When to Book During Pregnancy
I am here if you are at the start of second trimester or even if you are beyond 36 weeks and would like a holistic option to help your baby turn naturally. It’s never too early to start helping prepare your body for birth.

If you would like more information about how I could help you during pregnancy, please get in touch with Siân directly via her website for a no obligation chat. I recommend treatment from second trimester (13 weeks) and beyond. If you are in your first trimester (below 12 weeks pregnant) please get in touch with me prior to booking.

Cranial Osteopathy
Cranial osteopathy is a gentle osteopathic approach. Treatment usually focuses on, but is not limited to, the cranium and sacrum in order to release tensions and restrictions in the body to optimise health and well-being. People of all ages can be treated in this way, however, it is a particularly effective approach in the treatment of babies and children.
