NAIL PROBLEMS
Nail Cutting
If you struggle to manage your nails we offer a nail cutting service with our Podiatry Assistant. [click here to book] Please note, you must have been assessed by one of our Podiatrists during an Initial Consultation to confirm your suitability for this appointment. The Podiatrist will treat you during this and refer you to the Podiatry Assistant for future appointments [click here to book an Initial Consultation].
Ingrown Toenail
There are many causes of ingrown toenails and occasionally it can be another thing altogether like a corn under the nail. Whatever the cause, it is painful and although antibiotics can treat infection there is usually a need to treat the underlying cause. The good news is that often regular nail care can keep on top of the problem but if more intervention is needed, we offer Nail Bracing and Nail Surgery. If you haven’t been to us before you will need an Initial Consultation [click here to book] to assess your suitability for treatment but if your situation is an emergency, please call the practice on 01270 767744.
Fungal Nails
Fungal nails are difficult to clear up and they will not clear up overnight. But with patience and the right treatment it can be done. The Lacuna Method® is a treatment for fungal nails which involves drilling multiple micro holes through the nail plate, this allows an antifungal solution to be transported to the area of infection (the nail bed) directly. Sometimes a damaged or loose nail can look like a fungal nail, so it is essential to be 100% sure that your nail is fungal before treating to avoid wasting money and time. At Stride Clinic we offer the 5 Minute Fungal Nail Test to give you an almost instant diagnosis. If you haven’t been to us before you will need an Initial Consultation [click here to book] during which the test can be carried out if necessary and then treatment options can be discussed.
